Children's Activities....
We are happy to offer childcare in the school holiday sessions AT8 and
AT10 from July 26th to August 8th and from August 23rd to September
5th, 2008
We offer childcare for children between the ages of 5 and 15, but there is a limit on places available on each session (Sorry - childcare now fully booked for AT9)
Atsitsa is a huge, safe playground where children can express
themselves physically, pick up new skills and interests and develop
their confidence and personality - just like the adults.
The children will be looked after during the hours of the two main
course slots and during the oekos groups, to enable the parent(s) to
attend these if they wish. Any other times are at the discretion of the
childminder.
The activities will be determined by the interests, the ages and the
mood of the children themselves. Typical activities could be painting
and art work, woodland walks, beach games, theatre games, improvised
music etc.
There are occasions when it is appropriate for the youngsters to
join in the adult courses, but this is always at the discretion of the
facilitator concerned. Clearly a fifteen year old would be given a
wider range of options than an eight year old and would be far more
likely to be interested. The older, more mature teenagers can be
treated in many ways as adults. Frequently, the facilitators will offer
special one-off events relating to their course just for the children.
These may be music sessions, a sail on our yacht, magic or singing.
Outside of the set hours, including evenings and at the weekend
(when there are no courses), your children are your responsibility. It
is very common, however, to find people on the session who are willing
to keep an eye out from time to time - bearing in mind it is one of the
safest places in the world. There are always evening activities and
many of these are child-friendly.
The food is delicious but isn't always to the taste of the younger
ones. So we do offer a smattering of simple kids-only dishes on the
side, to supplement the main meal. This may be chips, beans, omelettes,
pizzas, sausages or cheese/sausage pies or ice-cream. The difficulty is
keeping the adults away! There is also an on-site shop if they need
snacks between the set meal times.
If you have already booked, or are thinking of doing so and have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
