Skyros in Cuba - Food
You can eat well on simply prepared wholesome food. Cuba was a pioneer in the use of ecologically sound farming.
Rice and beans are the staple component of most dishes, often served with fish, chicken or pork seasoned with onion and garlic. Seafood, particularly lobster, prawns and fresh tuna are of excellent quality and dishes with fresh plantain tempt the palate. National dishes not to be missed include 'ropa vieja', 'tamales' and 'Lechon'. Vegetarianism is in its infancy but restaurants respond to your requests.
